The property is in a great location close to the beach and the General Store where you can get groceries, alcohol, pizza, ice cream and donuts! Home is in need of a little TLC but it is a great place to stay, many great amenities, kitchen if fully stocked and lots of room if you have a big group traveling with you.
We loved staying in this home. There were 10 of us staying there and we had 4 more relatives staying a few houses down. We were able to have all 14 of us around the table to enjoy meals and being with each other. The pool was also perfect. We did have a problem with internet and only got a connection the last day we were there but I am sure they will be working on that.
Property is in good condition, well stocked and furnished. At&t will get signal on top floor. Otherwise verizon rules. Internet is very limited. Pool is smaller than pictured but adequate. Location to nearby store is great. Had issues with needing to run A/C non stop in mid july but it was hot. Sea air wreaks havoc on everything. A number of exterior outlets did not work. Checked breakers. Not the issue. We dealt with rusted patio furniture but its not unexpected and did not take take away from our visit. Sanding of decks was a concern. Lots of splinters dodged on exterior decking on second and third floors. A third trash can is a suggestion. Filled up the two easily. Would recommend otherwise. Had a great time. Views were fantastic.
The house had a very good amount of space for a large family. Two out of the three master bedrooms had very comfortable mattresses, but one has definitely seen it’s better days. We loved the fenced in backyard, and the walk from the house to the beach was only about 3 minutes. Also, the view of the beach is perfect. There are no structures in your view and you can see the beach perfectly. We would definitely stay again!
The house is awesome -- plenty of space for a family and everything you need to cook. It is very dog friendly. The heated pool is perfect -- the gulf is a bit unpredictable (rough and churned up the week we were there) so it was great to have a pool. The location is perfect to explore the natural features of the area -- lots to do between exploring the beach and the bay. This was our first visit to the panhandle, so we learned quite a bit. The beach is gorgeous, but don't plan on calm, really warm, clear water that is typical of the gulf further south. The bay is incredible -- full of sea creatures that are easy to see and find by going wading and kayaking. I wish we had time to snorkel too! Night life is watching sunsets, walking on the beach and star gazing. Port St. Joe is small and rolls up the sidewalks early, at least in early May, so plan accordingly. We were a bit surprised that everything was closed by 8:30/9pm on a Saturday -- including the stores at the end of the street, the grocery store and every restaurant/bar in town, even those that say they are open until midnight.
