The location is so convenient, right behind the trading post, the St. joe Shrimp Company, ice cream, donuts, bbq. The beach was just down the street. The pool area was nice and clean and the set up of the house was good. We had a few issues with the house that were taken care of quickly by the manager.
Thanks so much for staying with us. Dawn
This property is a nice property, close to the Trading Post, and close to the water. Water views from house were great. Watched the birds diving into the water for fish. All amenities were as described. Easy check-in. Pool can be heated for a small fee to cover the gas. It was great.
So glad you had a nice vacation and were able to enjoy the pool and the beach! We love bird watching too, they're just fascinating. Hope to have you stay again for your next getaway!
Had a wonderful time at Beach Dreamer. It was a girl's trip plus 2 girl dogs. The house was in good condition and very clean. Kitchen was stocked with everything you might need and more. Loved the soft bed sheets. All the staff we came in contact with we nice and helpful. Great location with Trading Post at end of the road. We will no doubt be back. Thanks so much for sharing your slice of the beach with us!
We're so happy the house worked out for your girls trip! Sounds like a fun way to spend a week at the beach. Looking forward to having you again!
We had a great time and this house is in a great location. One thing I’d like to mention is the bunk room. It is a VERY small room with a tiny wicker dresser. The laundry room is in the closet of the bunk room. Which made it hard for people to access. We had teenagers staying in that room and with nowhere to put their things it was extremely cramped. For smaller children it would probably be ok but not great for teenagers. The ground floor queen bedroom was pretty warm also. One of the upstairs masters did not have access to a closet. It was locked. Not a huge deal but that couple staying in that room can’t hang anything up. Again, we had a great time and the house has everything we needed. GREAT location. Trading post being so close was so convenient. They have everything you need.
Thanks for your feedback about the rooms and closet. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time on the Cape and hope you had a nice vacation!
Beach Dreamer is a dream come true! We loved everything about this house! It's clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is complete with a wide variety of cooking utensils. The ocean and sunset views from the balconies are beautiful. The pool and landscaping are great! A short walk across gorgeous white sand gets you to the beach. The Trading Post and St. Joe Shrimp Co, as well as Weber's Donuts are a short walk in the other direction. We hope to return to the Cape soon, and hope we can stay at Beach Dreamer in the future!
We're so glad you had a nice time at Beach Dreamer! The views are unmatched, we agree. We look forward to having you again for your next beach vacation!
To start with, we would really prefer to keep this gem a secret. The house and grounds were as good as or better than the pictures and descriptions. The house is wonderfully decorated. The house was clean and ready to receive guest. It is not abnormal for cleaning to be rushed and incomplete in a vacation rental but this home was very clean and ready for the most scrutinizing guest. It is just a short walk from the beach as well as from the Tradin Post for your immediate needs, St. Joe Shrimp Co for fresh seafood, and a couple of places for sweet treats. In all my family and I had a wonderful time and really appreciated the home, the time put into preparing it for guest, and the overall simplicity of checking in. Also want to give Dawn a shoutout for working with me when my plans changed and I needed to accommodate another guest and our Yorker. Thank you and thanks for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your home. Greg W.
We're so happy you enjoyed your vacation with your family, Greg! Sounds like you all got to really take advantage of the Cape's offerings too. We hope to have you stay again on your next vacation.
We were already booked at a resort in S.C. that was being evacuated for Dorian, so had to find something on short notice. A friend recommended relaxed, pet friendly Cape San Blas; the area and this home in particular certainly did not disappoint! The location and views were perfect, as one could experience glorious gulf sunsets In the evening and walk just across the street for beautiful bay side sunrises in the morning. The night sky was ablaze with constellations and harvest moonrise. The home itself is beautifully furnished with understated colors and ocean related artwork, not in garish colors and tacky knickknacks as many beach properties are. Both decks have safety fencing for pets, which made it easy to have our small dog outside with us. I am a beach person, my husband is a pool person, so each of us quickly found our happy place. The bed was extremely comfortable, water pressure in the shower was good, and the kitchen was well stocked with a variety of cookware, utensils and spices. There was a small drip in the kitchen ceiling that we noticed on the second day. The property manager sent someone out immediately to investigate and fix the problem. The only reason 5 stars were not chosen for all categories is that the property is advertised as having a screened porch, which it does not. Fortunately we were not bothered by bugs while there, so sitting out on the open deck was not a problem. There were only 2 of us and 1 small dog there for the week, so we only used the downstairs, but I could definitely see how a couple of families, or a family with a teenager or in laws using the separate suite would be comfortable here. Thanks for providing such a comfortable and relaxing getaway home!
We're so glad you were able to enjoy the property so much and were able to discover all the natural beauty of Cape San Blas!
This was a wonderful property. The pictures do not do justice for the actual property itself. It is decorated tastefully and with beach themes, throughout the home. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you could need for the week. Wonderful pool area, with great landscaping. The home is very spacious.
We're so glad you enjoyed our home for your vacation. Thanks for your kind note about the decor and landscaping! Happy you got to enjoy some pool time with your loved ones. Hope to see you again on your next beach getaway.
The Beach Dreamer was so perfect for our family of 10. I believe we had the best location possible. Just a little walk to the ocean! A very short walk to the Trading Post (has everything including pizza and sandwiches), next to Ice cream at Shoobies and of course Weber’s donuts! We went there a few times every day! The interior is decorated beautifully. I loved that the entire area was open. The kitchen has all items you’d need to cook. (We brought an air fryer to be grease free. Perfect for those chicken nuggets etc for kids)! The ocean views from the balconies are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on them to watch kids swim and enjoy that beautiful ever-changing sky. The large dining room table was just what we needed for family game nights. It has 3 large bedrooms with king size comfortable beds with balconies and private bathrooms. Perfect for the 3 adult couples. The bunk room is small (also has washer n dryer in it) but it was perfect for two of the kids. The other two slept on the pull out sleeper sofa. Great for kids that like to watch TV to fall asleep. We loved the house so much! Now about the last room that is separate from the house in the pool area. It is very small but decorated very nice. (We had a guest for 2 night) so my son and his girlfriend said they’d stay in there. They said this room would be good in cooler conditions but in the heat it was not. There just isn’t enough air circulation to keep cool. Tho the air conditioner did work in there. He added a third fan that helped. That was just our experience. Yes, it is a bedroom but, I personally, would not count it as an option equal to the other bedrooms when considering booking in the heat. One impressive thing was the prompt response we received when the WiFi/internet wasn’t working. It was on Sunday and within an hour of telling them about it they had someone there to fix it. (It just needed reset). The air conditioner worked great. All furniture was comfortable! We hope to book it again some day. Thanks to the owners. They know what makes their guest happy.
Thanks so much for staying with us. Dawn & John
My family had a wonderful time during our vacation. The house was super convenient to necessities and beach! The pool was a fantastic amenity and I highly recommend a pool for anyone with children! The beach was very close and very private. Not busy at all. The house is decorated very nicely and offers lots of space. The house was a little sandy and I am not sure if all bedding (including comforters) is washed consistently. I know it is hard to keep homes sand free at the beach but many of the rugs had layers of sand under so we did clean that up upon arrival. Most of the beds are really soft so if you are someone that requires a more firm mattress you may not get the best night sleep. Overall, my family would definitely stay there again.
I am so sorry. We pride ourselves in our homes being spotless. You did not contact us upon arrival with any issues or we would have sent our cleaning crew over immediately to recitify. In the future please call and we will make things right. Dawn & John
We have been coming to the Cape for about 7 years know and have stayed in different homes most every year. Usually we stay closer to the state park area and wasn't sure being this close to all the activity of the stores and shop would be a good. idea. Turned out to be perfect. The house set in between the stores and the beach- a short walk to both. The grandkids and I after time on the beach made a daily walk for ice cream. When we needed ice or drinks or more shrimp- a short walk. The house was a good fit for our 8 adults and two kids. We loved jumping in the pool after a hot time on the beach. We like to cook and the house had everything we needed. The air cut off one night but the owner had someone out to fix it early the next morning.. The home exceeded our expectations which is always nice. We did hate that Indian Pass Raw Bar was not yet open - so we took a trip to Apalachicola for some oysters and found some at Up the Creek. It was good- but hopefully Indian Pass will be open when we return next year. Thanks Dawn for a great stay and for sharing your home.
Thanks for staying with us!
We loved the house! Very well decorated and clean. The sink stopped up the second night but the manager was there within ten mins to fix it. The location is great for the reading post and ice cream every night. Beach was just a short distance we brought our golf cart instead of walking to the beach. The owner of the house on the beach didn’t like that we rode the golf cart to the beach she would purposely block us in each day with her truck. One day she carried huge rocks at the entrance where we had to climb over them to get to the beach. It wasn’t the managers fault in this. The nails from construction were bad. We got a few in our tires. But we understood considering the damage the cape received. The gas grill ran out of propane we refilled it and was not refunded. Even though there was a few hiccups I would still recommend this property to someone. But be sure and bring extra paper towel and supplies. We were provided a partial roll of toilet paper in one bathroom and one garbage bag. Linens were clean beds were not the most comfy. Like sleeping on a marshmallow.
I'm glad you loved the house and I'm sorry about the nails. We have had many nails in our tires since the Hurricane but it is getting better. As far as accessing the beach by golf cart. The only driving beach access is at Dunes Drive. To drive any vehicle on Gulf County Beaches you need a beach permit on the vehicle and you must enter at only designated areas. You should not have been driving on the beach from Tobago. Protecting our dunes is foremost to protecting our area. I hope you choose Beach Dreamer for your next visit to Cape San Blas. Dawn & John
The house was perfect for our whole family. It was well equiped. Great view of the beach. The pool was small but perfect for our family. Any questions or concerns we had were answered by Dawn. Location was amazing. Sad for all the families who lost homes from the 10/18 hurricane Michael. Think this may be a home and place re visited.
Debbie, we're so glad you had a good time vacationing with your family in our home! We hope to have you stay again on your next beach getaway. Thanks, Dawn & John
This was the perfect vacation home. Such tasteful decor! Abundantly equipped kitchen! Clean and spacious! Beautiful view of the ocean, private pool. Just the perfect vacation location!
We're so glad you enjoyed your vacation in our home and got to take advantage of the ocean and private pool. Hope to see you again on your next beach adventure. Thanks again, Dawn & John
The home and pool were beautiful, within walking distance to the water and a couple locally owned stores for the necessities - and donuts! The sense of community following the hurricane is very strong and the rebuilding process is underway in all surrounding areas. Dawn and John were responsive to a few needs, although it was nothing of major significance or concern. Our family of five had plenty of space to be together or apart as we wanted, and it was a great value for our money. We were not prepared for the level of devastation in all surrounding areas, nor the number of all types of businesses remaining closed - suggest researching this beforehand. I’d suggest the property add fishing poles, or be sure to bring your own. We would come back and were very happy to have helped this incredible community and economy with even just a week’s worth of our contributions. Be sure to visit the Sand Dollar Cafe in town-best value in all the area!
We're so glad you could enjoy your stay in our home! Our community is continuing to rebuild and recover. Thank you for your note about fishing poles, we will keep it in mind. Hope to see you on your next beach getaway. Thanks again, Dawn & John
Close to the beach. Plenty of room for a larger group. Pool was a wonderful bonus. Beautifully appointed cottage. Designer touch!
We're so glad you enjoyed your vacation and got to take advantage of the pool. We hope to see you again on your next beach getaway! Thanks again, Dawn & John
We booked our vacation prior to the devastation of hurricane Michael in October. This home owner made every effort to have this wonderful property ready for our stay. The home is beautiful and comfortable with great beach views. With new flooring, it is very dog friendly and although January was a little too cool for swimming, the pool area is incredible. The beach is also very dog friendly and our daily walks were amazing. Although other nearby areas appeared to be affected more seriously, Cape San Blas also suffered significant damages. We were not prepared for the resilient spirit of the community to restore better than ever. We loved this property and had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing it with us!
We're so happy you were able to enjoy your vacation in Beach Dreamer. Thank you for your kind words about the community, we're continuing to recover and rebuild! Hope to see you again for your next beach getaway. Thanks again, Dawn & John
The property is in a great location close to the beach and the General Store where you can get groceries, alcohol, pizza, ice cream and donuts! Home is in need of a little TLC but it is a great place to stay, many great amenities, kitchen if fully stocked and lots of room if you have a big group traveling with you.
This home has all new decks, and furniture, the pool and grounds have all been redone, come visit again. Just lovely!. Dawn & John
We loved staying in this home. There were 10 of us staying there and we had 4 more relatives staying a few houses down. We were able to have all 14 of us around the table to enjoy meals and being with each other. The pool was also perfect. We did have a problem with internet and only got a connection the last day we were there but I am sure they will be working on that.
Property is in good condition, well stocked and furnished. At&t will get signal on top floor. Otherwise verizon rules. Internet is very limited. Pool is smaller than pictured but adequate. Location to nearby store is great. Had issues with needing to run A/C non stop in mid july but it was hot. Sea air wreaks havoc on everything. A number of exterior outlets did not work. Checked breakers. Not the issue. We dealt with rusted patio furniture but its not unexpected and did not take take away from our visit. Sanding of decks was a concern. Lots of splinters dodged on exterior decking on second and third floors. A third trash can is a suggestion. Filled up the two easily. Would recommend otherwise. Had a great time. Views were fantastic.
The house had a very good amount of space for a large family. Two out of the three master bedrooms had very comfortable mattresses, but one has definitely seen it’s better days. We loved the fenced in backyard, and the walk from the house to the beach was only about 3 minutes. Also, the view of the beach is perfect. There are no structures in your view and you can see the beach perfectly. We would definitely stay again!
The house is awesome -- plenty of space for a family and everything you need to cook. It is very dog friendly. The heated pool is perfect -- the gulf is a bit unpredictable (rough and churned up the week we were there) so it was great to have a pool. The location is perfect to explore the natural features of the area -- lots to do between exploring the beach and the bay. This was our first visit to the panhandle, so we learned quite a bit. The beach is gorgeous, but don't plan on calm, really warm, clear water that is typical of the gulf further south. The bay is incredible -- full of sea creatures that are easy to see and find by going wading and kayaking. I wish we had time to snorkel too! Night life is watching sunsets, walking on the beach and star gazing. Port St. Joe is small and rolls up the sidewalks early, at least in early May, so plan accordingly. We were a bit surprised that everything was closed by 8:30/9pm on a Saturday -- including the stores at the end of the street, the grocery store and every restaurant/bar in town, even those that say they are open until midnight.
